Hello folks, new to forum having recently bought a 1998 fiat ducato 1.9td MH.
Bit of a crunch going into 2nd gear which seems to be fairly common. Been double clutching and allowing revs to drop which helps and I can live with it. Found a few posts on same issue before but can't find the useful one again! A few users had suggested changing gearbox oil as this can help (sometimes). What I want to ask is - has anyone had similar issues and what is the best gearbox oil to use.

hi davehmp, having same problem so i've ordered from amazon castro467284 syntrans multivehicle 75w90 motor oil. £11.52ltr. i've ordered 3ltr cause info. varies on capacity from 1.85 to 2.7ltrs. apparently there is no dedicated filling point. you have to remove the gearbox breather pipe or the reversing light switch. i couldent even find the drain plug but at 68 i'm getting a bit old for crawling under vans. some photos would be useful if any members have any. mine has the x230 3000 engine. i asume yours is the same.
