Hello all,
New me ever. Thank you for adding me to the forum. Leaving work today, my 500 wouldn’t go into reverse. My brother helped me push it out and I went on my way. In a few seconds I realized that I couldn’t shift into 2nd gear either. 4th was also out of the question. I drove home shifting from 1 to 3 to 5 - all “upper gears”. The “lower gears” won’t engage even when stopped. The uppers are also starting to stick.
About 55k miles
Could it be tranny fluid?
New gearbox needed
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I bought my 500 used, one previous owner. It actually saved my Finacial life and I love driving it. Would hate to lose it.

Also make sure the gearbox mount is ok, if the mount drops it can foul the mechanism.

Agreed.. my diesel changed gear better with a replacement dogbone ( that actually had rubber in it..)
