I was aware of some "national" forums for the Cinquecento, then found this one with what looks like a worldwide membership, so I'm joining.
I'm much more of classic motorcycle nut, but went one day to a swap meet situated in a school's buildings, and in the middle of the playgrounds was this gorgeous, irresistible 500 Giardiniera in coral orange, and I was smitten !
It looked healthy all around if not perfect, so for 1999's equivalent of 2.500 euro it was mine. Many laughed and said "How much ?" Who's laughing now ?
I wanted a "straight" registration, not "oldtimer", so year after year I've had interesting conversations with safety inspectors raised with modern standards.
"Handbrake's not powerful enough !" "Well pull a little harder on it !"
"Brakes feel funny, something wrong with the booster!" "Let's look for it !"
"It won't start now !" "Well, there's this lever..."
The car's a great antidote to planned obsolescence and kleenex engineering, and I look forward to the collective experience and wisdom on this forum !
