Hi,
My generous boyfriend gifted me a 2014 Fiat 500s with manual transmission and aftermarket sunroof. (Dealers had no manuals with sun roofs. )

I drove Java Bean across North America, discovered the fuel injector doesn't adjust to altitude on its own while struggling uphill at 6,000 feet altitude at 40mph!

She's now parked in my parents' driveway in the countryside where she has lived since I lost my job. Unfortunately, a critter ate a wire to the fuel system and she won't start. I hear the starter. I hear the sparks. But the fuel system light goes on telling me there's no signal reaching the fuel pump. So, here I am on this forum, my first car forum after many, many motorcycle forums.

I'm looking for an engine diagram that can point me to the fuel parts so I can follow the wiring harness to them and find the damage. I'll be splicing wires since a replacement harness goes for more than $500.

Anyone have diagrams? It doesn't have to be for the sport. Any newer 500 will give me enough information to know what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Might be worth a look at the documents for the 500 in the Forum's download area:

https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?categoryid=11

In particular, you'll probably want to download the 500 eLearn. This is a workshop service manual with wiring diagrams. (You'll need to reassemble the separate parts of the download into an iso file using a program like 7-Zip, then burn this to a CD, or run the iso directly from your hard drive using a program like Virtual CloneDrive).

Other than that you may get some help from the diagrams in the parts catalogue for the Fiat 500 here:

Hope this helps!

Hi, welcome, :)
and sorry to hear of your troubles,

the US model of 500 does vary from the EURO ones,
in the UK there is a signal that gets the fuel pump running IN THE FUEL TANK ( UNDER REAR SEAT)
UNTIL predetermined system pressure is met -
a FIRE PREVENTION system cancels this operation - BUT it has a reset button.

as a 1st step I would listen for the fuel pump running..;)

then attempt to test for fuel getting to the fuel rail - you can either use an electronic test..
or just CAREFULLY depress the Schrader valve .. like on the tire valve

eLearn is next to useless where wiring diagrammes are conserned. There is also no engine information for 0.9 500 TwinAir engine. I am after information about the loom where it passes into the tail gate, colour codes and circuits etc. This is a known weak point on most 500 models because the loom wires all pass through the specified area in one piece and are stiff (not very flexible - as in silicone covered wires) and there is an internal surface within the tailgate at the point of entry which abraids the insulation and eventually the wires.

There is a repair loom on EBay to fix this or replace each wire one at a time
