Tipo what mpg are you getting

I live in Co Durham and bought several cars from my local dealer GMD. All my servicing and warrenty work was done by GMD . When GMD closed I went to Springfield Gateshead for servicing but when I went to buy my new Tipo was informed ,although all the signage showed FIAT, they do not supply FIAT anymore. That left Richard Hardie in Sunderland to supply a new Tipo. Any warranty work or servicing now involves a 40m drive and a long wait. I have had 7 new Fiats (6 from GMD and 1 from Hardies) I will think twice before I get my next new Fiat and possibly look elseware.

I have a samey samey sort of usage since I bought my Tipo. Lots of unnecessary rises and dips on the M9 that kills my performance.

I'm getting between 33 & 36 miles to the gallon in my 1.4 T-Jet 120 now (worked out manually, though the computer is saying 33.0 to 34.7 so not far out). Not amazing by any means, but it does get about 30-40 more miles to a tank when doing a long steady motorway journey such as when I drove to Manchester and back to Oxford in it, and seems to be on track for a similar result from a journey to Southend and back to Oxford on the most recent tank.

Still only done 5500 miles though so there's room for improvement if the T-Jet takes the same amount of running-in as other Italian cars we've had in the family.

Hi there,
Can I ask what programme you are using. Very interesting screen shot.
I had been using the FIAT EcoDrive on the old Bravo, but not been able to get it working on Windows 10. And does not appear compatible with my new Tipo!
I do use fuelly.com, you can see me there....
Thanks in advance.

I have just reconfirmed my car service for this sat with Springfield Gateshead who have just been taken over by Sherwoods, only to be told if anything needs to be done under warranty they are no longer able to do it as it isn't cost effective, whats going on, looks like I will have to go to Richard Hardie Sunderland this will be the 3rd change, seriously thinking of changing to another make Ho Hum!! anyone else having bother

Having same problem. Since GMD at Durham closed I started to use Springfield Fiat in Gateshead to do servicing. However when I went to get a new Tipo last year I was informed they had lost francise. I had go to Richard Hardie Sunderland to get car and they are the only dealership in the area.

What sort of mpg are people getting from the normal 1.4 95hp
Not the tjet
Getting 48-50 around town in 1.4 95hp estate, have seen around 60 on motorway journeys but mid/upper 50's solid. The trick is to change up early, not gassing it, and on motorways the threshold is definitely 65mph. Up to that (if you can stand it) very good mpg is available. Over that, inevitably, it gets heavier as the resistance increases. Since it's not an overtly sporty motor, not hooning it about is no great loss - I'll get another Trans Am if I feel like doing that. Frankly, on Britain's motorways these days I find you're largely stuck with staring at the back of a Transit van anyway, so might as well back off and save money.

Lack of competion between dealers cannot be good for customers.

48 around town?
I only get 42 ish around town with a few short motorway journeys mixed in

hired one from europcar hire ( enterprise are crap, no car at the booked time, system says we dont live at address we have been living at ( its our house ) for past 19 years ffs!! ) from guildford to north wales, did about 48 miles per gallon, but car seemed a bit sluggish but went well. we like this model and its available as an estate?

1.4 petrol with about 38k miles on the clock.

well I have thrown the towel in with the petrol Tipo, mine just passed itsfirst test this week at sherwoods Gateshead (ex Fiat dealer), to be told the rear shocks need doing under warranty so I have had to go to Richard hardie in sunderland, however they had a 1.6 tipo 120hp multijet diesel and I have done
the trade in, my petrol was only getting 29 mph round the doors, here`s hoping the diesel will be better as I retire next year

Let us know how you get on with it

In general I get an average about 39mpg in the 1.4 T-Jet (120bhp) which I don’t think is too bad, I reset the trip every time I fuel up and do a mixture of town and motorway driving. The official Fiat figure on a combined cycle for the Tipo with a 1.4 T-Jet engine is 40.4mpg (I think).

Well I am more than happy with my 17 reg 1.6 diesel multijet Tipo been up to Holy Island in Northumberland averaged 65 mpg, and just returned from Hebden Bridge, motorway and hills and dales and averaged 60 mpg. Happy days and nil car tax result I would say, and the Govt trying to get rid of diesels my level is 98 which gives free tax, cleaner than most petrols.

I have the standard 95bhp 1,4l hatchback now on 28,000miles, with an overall average of 47.1mpg. I'm still very happy with the Tipo, but I'm having two drop links replaced. Not so good considering the fairly low mileage, but my garage mechanic thinks the roads could be to blame. He also told me, to my total incredulity, that they are plastic on a lot of modern cars. Maybe toffee would be harder wearing, but then I'm not an automotive designer.
