Hi, I have a 2012 Fiat Punto 1.4T 16v Multiair, car was involved in a small accident it unfortunately affected the engine bay fusebox at one of the relays. I have subsequently fitted a new relay.

I have also resetted the fuel cut off switch with the indicators.

The car is not cranking at all when i turn the key:
-battery is new
-there is a clicking noise inside the car when i turn the key
-i am able to get the starter to turn when i give a positive at the starter itsself but no spark, pulse etc.

The coding/immobiliser/key light is on when i switch the car on and does not go away

The engine light does not come on at all

I have downloaded and bought all the things for multiecuscan and when i connect it to my car i can read everything except engine, it says communication error. When I go into the can setup it says engine control node is disconnected everything else tests ok

This leads me to believe there is some break in the ecu communication to the car, I have checked wires and fuses and all seem fine. I have had this exact issue on a Tata before and was able to resolve it by replacing an ECU fuse

Which brings me to my question, I have downloaded the owners manual but it only tells you what the fuses are and not the relays. If someone knows or has a diagram of the fusebox relays or know the specific location of an engine control relay that I can check out?

Or any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, and welcome, :)
the 2012 section is pretty quiet:eek:

use SEARCH in "advanced" to search the Grande Punto section as well,
searching for ECU / fuse , etc,

Thanks for the reply I have checked and came across a post where someone has had the exact same issue as me, he ended up saying he was going to break the car for spares. I am, however, still very determined to fix it. Error codes we both got was u1701 and u0426. I have also kind of narrowed it down to fuses f17 f22 f11 that has no power when car is switched on they are related to the ecu i think and get power from relay t9, i will be able to check tomorrow. I am still looking for a proper fusebox diag, busy downloading elearn as well. Does anyone know if fuses f17 f11 f22 are supposed to have power when car is switched on or do they only get power when car starts?

I got it sorted. I went to the online elearn got the diagrams and realised the can communication to the ecu goes through the abs so if the abs is faulty there will be no communication to the ecu. In my case it was purple green and brown wires in the abs loom that was broken, fixed them and all is fine car starts:slayer:
