Hi I have had the 500x 1.4 6speed for about a month now and am really loving it. Here's my thoughts so far.....very good turn of speed when the revs are up,especially when in sport mode! The steering goes quite heavy when in sport so it does take time to get used to it. Handles very well in corners and the brakes are very good. Lots of room in the back seats although boot is not as large as it could be. Fuel consumption not as good as Fiat quote but still fair. Good looking car in red and radio/info system easy to use, very good climate control. Couple of things that I don't really like....there is a switch on the dash that shows the state of the passenger airbag on or off. The orange light is very bright and is always on when airbag is on ....when it's off it is still lit orange. Seems overkill ,do we really need a light to say it's on and it's off! Other minor complaint is the front door pockets stick out and when getting in and out of the the car it's easy to catch your foot on the plastic. This leaves quite a scuff on the trim. I have seen several 500x and they all have scuffs on the door trim the same as mine. I think this is the best car Fiat have at the moment. Cheers Mark P.

Thanks, I take you have the manual 6 speed, regarding the bright orange light on dash, could it be covered with some kind of tinted tape to darken it a bit so not so obtrusive, thanks for the info.

I was thinking of doing exactly that. When people first get in the car they say" is that light meant to be on?" I notice on the American models the switch is not for airbags so they don't have the problem.

You got any photos of your car,did it come with factory fitted front car mats, and what they like, any good.

I bought factory mats off of EBay . Cheaper than my dealer, nice mats in grey with 500 logo embossed on edge. Fit using the Fiat fittings nice and secure. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1445797541.396349.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1445797569.826768.jpg

My 500X came with front mats included. I've no idea if this was a Fiat original intent or a dealer "thank you" but either way I'm thankful.

What I have found/understood from my dealer is that Fiat UK have a spares / accessories rep who visits show rooms and deposits "choice" accessories on cars. These include mats, trims, etc., etc.

As for who pays for theses I've no idea. I suspect the dealer will transfer items from car to car as they get sold but some may just end up being left in place.

Whatever transpired in my case I got fitted front mats on my 500X Cross 1.4 at no charge to me. Have no idea if this was factory standard, dealer oversight, dealer intended or just plain luck. To my knowledge "front mats only" is not an official Fiat accessory option so I'm thinking mine are cheaper "tasters" supplied free of charge by Fiat UK hoping one will want to upgrade to a full Front and Back higher quality offering.
