Guys -- am new to this forum and IN here in all good hope that i have company from someone out there who has a similar problem to that of mine 
Am from India, owning a Palio Diesel 1.9 litre engine, which is abt 58k kms old. I have had this check engine light staying on even after other 'checks' are completed. The only 'fix' i seem to have is to start the engine, turn it off quick and turn on the key once again, for it to go. I should also mention that when i started the first time with the light ON, the engine clearly stutters and the accelerator has no or little effect. I have also gone to the service station once to 'reset' all counters; but to no avail. THey even changed the 'glow plug' as they called it but it didnt fix the issue. The mechanics mention that this is more likely a case of the diesel pump having an issue and it requires 'special' attention.
While I do believe them to a good extent (coz i had the same issue around 40k kms and they did a similar job to fix it- cost me around 7k INR then), am clueless abt the mechanics of the car and would like to hear from 'experts' if :
1. there are any 'easier' fixes to this issue
2. there is any 'code' that the ECM might possibly give that can directly point us to the problem
3. the diesel i use has anything to do with this problem (i changed over to a new diesel station recently :bang: )
