REPLACING 1.9 jtd Multijet with what ? What engine code should I look for , I cant work out which. If Iget a 115 hp , I am told this is non dpf .I think this one I have has dpf.5588292
Is the engine code I have.
So ifyou buy a 115 hp then you swap injectors , true or false, and live with original ECU

Sorry for any repeats on this thread starter tried to edit on this phone , and its all repeated on my profile!
Anyway can anyone help in my quest to replace this multipla engine ?
Please read the start of this thread, thank you.

Still here pondering!
Found an engine , but now thinking of trying a water pump and belt change. How likely are these engines to be undamaged from a belt breaking , I’m assuming the water pump seized.

If the belt snapped or jumped a tooth, it's very likely there's damage to the valves. You may have got away without damaging the pistons, in which case you could just swap heads, as long as nothing broke off in the combustion chambers and scored the bores.

The best way to survey the damage is to remove the head. It's a non-runner anyway and it's almost certain that the engine can't be fixed without at least taking the head off, so that's a good place to start.

Ok thanks , the earlier engines had a built in failsafe device by way of the rockers breaking instead of valves getting bent. You would think that would be a good thing to hold onto. A bit of as luck would have it !

If that's true, it's the first I've heard of it. A search of the forum threads on here will turn up many accounts of folks bending valves and holing pistons because of a snapped or jumped belt.

Only 8 valve diesels were ever factory fitted to the Multipla.
