Decided today, that as I was in the middle of hoovering the car, I would look for the infamous orange connector under the passenger seat and attempt to cure the airbag light that has been illuminated for months.

The thing is, I couldnt see a thing. Is it there on all Multis?
Am I barking up the wrong tree?
Im sure ive read somewhere about this plug, but there does not seem to be a connector (or any wiring at all) under the passenger seat.
There are a couple of connectors under the drivers seat but none anywhere else.

If anyone could enlighten me i'd be eternally grateful, a photo would be even better!

Cheers.

Thanks, will look again in the morning, but couldnt see anything there at all before.
Maybe wasnt looking in the right place, roll on tomorrow!
Thanks.

Definately underneath the front passenger seat, you'll see a wiring loom that's joined together by 2 connectors.
- unplug
- squirt with WD40 (or some sort of electrical contact cleaner)
- reconnect

and that should be it.:D

Nope, Ive looked under the seat (again) had the plastic drawer and retaining bracket out, removed the inner step/sill cover trim and the front trim from the centre seat (just in case).
Ive lifted the edge of the carpets and short of taking the seat out, not only can I not see this connector, I can see any sign of wiring whatsoever.

There are 3 connectors under the driver seat none of which is orange.

Thanks for the help though!

Appologies, mine's a new shape the wiring loom must be different then. I'm sure i've seen this on the forum before though.

If you're still interested, I've taken a piccy, and I've got enough posts up on here now to be able to post links, so let's see if this works. The round black tube is the grab to slide the seat back and forth.

Thats exactly what Ive been looking for Widemouthfrog!

The picture that is......

My cars away getting the bonnet painted today so I cant have a look, but as soon as its back im going to be right in there looking, thanks!

Well done widemouthfrog!

I've been trying to take a decent photo, but between the awful weather here and the fact I no longer have the original FIAT connector, but a connector block, it was proving rather difficult to identify what my photos were showing...:D

Nope, not there....Will post my piccy when I work out how!

Well the wife sits beside me, does that count?

If your talking about factory fitted then the answer is no!

LOL

If you can get your hands on a obd code reader that might turn the light off. Very cheap at the mo from Argos and I think there is one on ebay. Then again it might not.

How many airbag warning lights do you see? There are two - a red one which says 'something is wrong' and an orange one. The orange one comes on if you've turned the passenger air bag off (by using the ignition key in the switch inside the driver's side glovebox). Is that switch 'on'?

(My Panda managed to show both lights -- which turned out to be because the wiring plug was loose on the back of that airbag key switch)

As to code readers -- yes, generally the DIY variety won't override the airbag and other SRS faults, as in order for the car to remain safe, the fault must be rectified, not hidden...

No, its the red one. Got an advisory at the last MOT for it, will pop it into Fiat when im feeling a bit more flush!
