New to the Forum, but can't wait to get stuck in and maybe meet up with some of you Fiat nuts real soon. Any of you around the Sunderland/North East area or know where my local cruise is? I know there's one in Bishop Auckland on a Sunday night, bit far though....

Hi, nice sporting, I reckon the sporting is the only Punto to look good in the facelift version... cool colour choice too[8D]

I nearly got an HGT instead of my Stilo, but would have had to wait til march and the insurance would have been much higher]

How come your door handles are the wrong colour[?]

Well according to my mate, who's head salesman, they spray the body of the car separate and the other bits (wing mirrors, door handles etc.) are attached later. It's just a guess but he thinks due to Broom being replaced by Imola, they must have ran out of Broom bits?

They are on order, or so I'm told. I guess if the worst comes to the worst they will just spray them Broom?
The only other option would be to order the other 27,000 parts (with the rest of the panels in Imola) and assemble them around two wing mirrors and two door handles to make a new car
Seriously tho, I didn't like the paint panel sample and now I've seen the wing mirror and handles in real life I'm not keen on Imola at all. Maybe I need to see a whole car before making judgement, but it just seems like a 'washed out' version of Broom.

Having said that, gotta be better than the wierd green colour Panda my mate just ordered, top left pic on this link. [V]

Guacamole I think that Panda colour is. It's an aquired taste for sure.

Garage just called.
Car is PDI'd, polished / diamond bright'ed, new mats inserted, full tank of gas, 12 months tax, new door handles and wing mirrors in the CORRECT COLOUR.......but I still can't have it!!!
They reckon they actually drove my registration docs to the local DVLA office last Thursday (19th) so my private plate could be transferred over and that it would be ready today. So I called DVLA myself this morning and they informed me that the garage only dropped the papers off on Monday (23rd) and they won't be ready until next Tuesday (2nd) at the earliest!!!

Spitting feathers right now!!! Not happy at all..............

Thats pants, I bought a private plate for one of my Vespas and my local office did it over the counter, took 5 minutes!

Exactly! I put the plate on about 8 months ago. Ordered it on the website on Tuesday, paperwork arrived on Thursday. Took paper work to DVLA local office on Friday and they did it there and then. Called into a garage on the way home and had some plates made up.
My garage are telling me that "it's different this time as your new car has never been registered, it takes longer".

What a depressing weekend this will be. [!]
