Panda (Classic) My 1000S

Introduction

My 1000S
Thank you for the comments.
The PO told me the wheel is from an Uno, it has a FIAT badge which appears correct for the wheel.
Just fitted another engine mount, and apparently this was the 'bad one' as the motor now sits really solid in the engine bay.
For me it's the perfect new car as there is still some tinkering and detailing to be done, but generally great condition, I love a tidy base for working!
Goes so much quicker than the Marbella too!

Pulled off the plastic side strips today, cleaned it up and slapped on some funky 1000 MIGLIA stickers!

Looks nice! I really like the white on white with the wheels.
You had a Marbella?

I do love to have a car to tinker with, I just bought a 1994 Cinquecento to tinker with.
An now I am busy every weekend!

I bought a new car last year and they are just so boring compared and I'm scared to touch anything encase I can't fix it! as I have no real mechanical knowledge accept for playing with Cinqs. (n)

Well now that the top of the engine is all clean and tidy, it is time to get underneath and accustomise myself with the dirty bits...
All quite original down there, but on close inspection I found:
The dampers are all but useless, though they are holding everything together nicely...
Original RH outer CV boot split where it is clamped to the axle. I think the PO must have given it a good wipe before I looked at it first, as it was suddenly splurging its precious grease after my first 200kms in the car. All always check these, obviously this time not closely enough!
Now cleaned and with a new boot I had lying around for the Marbella. The inners are still in remarkable condition, minimal or negligible oil loss through the seal, so they stay.
Control arm bushings were shot, so new arms have been bought. Then I discovered two new bushings in the spares box which came with the car. Duh! Never mind I'm sure Marbella could use them!
Strut top rubbers gone hard, new items ordered from Fiat.
New Monroe struts on their way, front and rear because it was such a good deal for the full set. I love new dampers!
The lower bj on both sides I are fine, though the rubbers are badly perishing. New hub carriers soon then...
Photos coming....keep on truckin'

Scrubs up nice. Now on to the suspension and brakes. The disks and pads are brand new, but no cleaning or copper slip was done, so I'll get on with that now.

The creaky brakes and the hubs are pretty ugly, mostly dirt, no much rust. The bearings are free and solid thankfully.
Now to strip and clean for paint, I'm leaving the calliper piston body connected as everything else in the brake system had already been renovated, and works like new.
