Punto (Mk2/2b) Mario's Mk2 Punto.

Introduction

Ok so i have just been and stuck a deposit down on my fresh Fiat, i am finally back in a 1242 8v Fiat. its a Mk2 Punto this time so basically a family version of the best car i have ever owned, My Lovely old Cinq Sporting 1242 8v 75 conversion, a lot of you may remember it lol. Well now i have myself a really clean (needs a wash) Black Mk2 3dr, all panels are straight so a good clean car. interior isn't the best but i will get some Sporting seats for it i think.

Plans for it.
I still have my PGT wheels off my Cinq so i will throw them on for the time being and may get some lowering springs for it and defo need a Sporting interior lol. apart from that i will basically leave it alone and enjoy thrashing a little 8v around again.

on the up hand I just (literally) picked up the below item. nice clean Cam Cover finished in silver, should tidy the engine bay up nicely.

I do really fancy a sporting mind, but there again I think I prefer the Mk1 sporting over the Mk2, more tuning potential lol

if ihad my way id be back to the Marea's
but there aint any, 2.0 20valver's that is,

been there and had the mk1 sportings, good ones are hard to find,

rust & slanty back wheels is the normal findings on them up here, :(

Yeah always wanted a 2.0 20v Marea, bet they can be fun lol.

I should never have got rid of the below car, it was my baby and I almost had it to where I wanted it lol.

(Yeah always wanted a 2.0 20v Marea, bet they can be fun lol.)

the engine noise off them is epic, nearest thing to ferrai noise, :D

what you need is good brava/bravo shell, and drop 2.0 20v lump in,

So Mario got handy with the spanners and did something on the Mk2 lol.

Cam cover, Cam cover gasket, Coil pack Seal, general clean up of the bay and I am slightly happier, well I was until I found that my HT Leads are a miss match of leads from god knows what. oh and the end snapped of 1 as I took it off, its bodged back on until Mon when I will lay my hands on some fresh ones.

How sharp are the lobes on the cam, jeez they are sheet!!!!

Next thing I want is a Mani and downpipe, hopefully a Punto 75 item.

So been a few weeks since I updated this.

Well whats going on with it, well I got sick of the plain and horrible Grey interior so I have acquired a nice ELX Blue interior for it and I am currently in the process of swapping it over as well as fitting a Fiat 100w sub and rear speakers and I am seriously toying with the idea of fitting the electric windows too.

Watch this space as I will have Pics up in the next couple of days.

Ok so all of the interior is in apart from the Door cards as I am going to wait to do them until I have a price of my friendly Auto Electician for wiring the windows up Retro-Fit style. I also have to wire the rear speakers and Sub up but they are in at least, found a great trick for the sub Mounting bracket.

I took to of the Blue Screw retainers out of the spare door I hand and took them to the car to see if they would fit, no luck, too big, but wait, I found my persuasion stick, couple of firm taps and they are in, then using two of the spare screws used to hold the door card on the Sub is held in secure as Factory lol.

I then found a tin of Tint spray and tinted my rear lights. handy that my neibough drives a Mk2 too lol. yes they are heavy smoked but still completely legal as they don't dim the lights much lol.

Seriously, I actually give up on this forum now!!!

Why?

No-one's given you a rollicking -- they're just trying to stop you getting stopped by the police, or getting screwed by your insurance company, if you're in an accident. (n)

Your rear lights are illegal, and, if you're parked up and hit, at night, because there was nothing for the other car's headlights to reflect from, then it would be 100% your fault.

People are just trying to help. But it's up to you whether or not you take their advice....
