Grande Punto My new ride

Introduction

My new T-Jet Grande Punto Sporting

Hey Guys, this is my Grande Punto Sporting collected two weeks ago from Batley - West Yorkshire, from Adrian (some of you might recognise the car).

Using the car to commute between North and South Wales (alloys needing a lot of cleaning) and I've finally given it a quick wash to take some decent photos to share with you. Suggestions for any mods would be appreciated.

Absolutely fallen in love with this car - in such a good condition and drives so well (awesome engine).

Such a beautiful colour, i went to view one the same as this but it was in awful condition for a 59 plate, felt very let down.

Yours looks very good though!

At the moment I'm a little unsure of any changes to make to the car. Brother's mentioned smoking the rear lights and changing the front lights. Need to start looking at mods that have been done to cars on here I think.
I was set on an mjet, however reading a few horror stories about the gearbox put me off. So happy with the model I got, it's only done 26k miles and is a beautiful car in every way!
Any suggestions on some good mods that would work?

A beautiful GP you have there. Standard on Eibach's looks the nuts, love it. Horror stories with the m-jets are from people not driving them properly. Reuuk will tell you all about that i'm sure.

As for future mods. OEM+ (subtle) is the way to go. My next GP will definitely be more of a sleeper, as opposed to all show and no go :D

thanks @Wisey ..you know its my favorite subject haha! also. does that make my car a show and go?

Mjets use the M32 Gearbox which is know (on here and the VXR forum) for being made out of 'cheese' the 6th gear is a synthetic gear which is supost to be used for the 'crusing on a motorway' and allot of people don't realise that. (who reads into gearbox on their cars? )
the problem with the gearbox arrises where the bearrings burn out because of the load that the 1.9 lump puts out due to the torque.
basically whats happening is your on the motorway sitting at a compfortable 65mph 6th gear and you decide you want to play hoonigan with the car thats passed you, or simply need to gain some speed so what do you do? put your foot down.
Because of this, the 6th synthetic gear strains and in long term cause damage = noise gear box that whines in 1,2 and 6th (mainly.) = $$$ in repair bills.
you can reduce the risk easilly by 70-80% (if not more!) by simply changing down a gear whenever you need to gain speed quickly.

rule of thumb for any m32 gearbox owners. shift down and your gear box will pull like a road train :D and last as long as any other gearbox (y)

so in theory. if you drive properly. your gearbox will work properly :slayer: = perfectly good working gearbox

/rant over ;P
