Grande Punto Matts 1.4 8V Grande

Introduction

Been on the forums for a while now, but I'm starting to modify my car so thought I'd make a thread so people can track my progress.

I've had my Blue 1.4 8V GP for about a year now and it's my baby - my girlfriends concerned how much I love my car - definitely three of us in this relationship!

I haven't done much to my car since getting it. Here's what I've done so far.

New plates:

Replaced the key case:

What I plan to do:
Blue LED footwell lighting
New pedals
Black alloys
HID kit/ Osram Night Breaker plus H4 (thoughts?)
Tint windows

Any other suggestions? I'm a student so want fairly cheap ideas and reversible mods if possible.

Would be great to hear feedback and suggestions.

All the best,

Matt
Quick update:

Changed the interior courtesy light to blue LEDs- 32 blue LEDs on each side (64 in total) - looks mad at night when I unlock the car it just lights up the interior bright blue (picture to come when it's dark).

In process of changing heater control backlights as one is broken.

Grill update: It's been vinyled (in satin black)! I did it myself first time, it's alright for the time being, but it will get redone when I have more time as I'm not 100% happy with the finish around the edges.

Just cannot wait for my alloy respray now :)

Matt

So the alloys were done just before I went on holiday and only now I've had time to upload so here they are:

(Note: my neighbour is having there drive redone so my car is ridiculously unclean, waiting till it's finished to wash it)

Couple more things to do: put on some gloss black caps for the nuts and paint my callipers blue.

Also not sure whether to get a blue strip around the edge of the alloy to desperate it from the tyre, what do people think?

Great looking car, I so nearly went for this colour (y)

I have the same alloys and i was going to get them done in black, if you dont mind me asking how much did it set you back?

Thanks buddy. No worries I searched around and most places offered £50 per alloy, however I managed to haggle this guy down to £40 per alloy so £160 overall. It's cheaper to do it yourself, it looks better done by a pro.

Yeah my mate has just done his Sei's wheels himself but I dont think i have the patience to do them myself plus i'm worried they'd come out like crap so better get a pro to do them :p

Near bristol, wheels are on the list. I'm gonna get them done in anthracite rather than black but i'm still not sure. I've seen a few people paint these alloys in black and they look great. I'm saving up for new springs first (y)

With a black GP I personally think black alloys are really nice but anthracite would look good too, take a nice picture of your car and photoshop it to see how it looks? Yeh I need to aswell, now I have nice alloys that gap is seriously noticeable I need to go low!

So it's been a while ... I felt like over the winter I lost a lot of love for my car. I started driving it less, cleaning it less, and just ignoring it a bit. Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was the psycho girlfriend. But now she's gone, the suns out and I've refound my love for my little Fiat :)

I've redone my interior lights, now a lot brighter blue and are fitted both driver, passenger and for the back seat passengers too. As well as being on a nice securely fitted switch, I've cleaned up all the cables and fitted my Bluetooth receiver to the dash to tidy things up inside the car.

Today I painted my calipers blue, at first I was really disappointed with the colour, as it felt too different to the body colour, however when I put the wheels back on the colour just pops and they look great! I honestly think I have the nicest stock alloys on this forum :p (May cause debate).

So what's next? Well after I finish my exams I plan to get the back windows tinted and the wing mirrors wrapped in matte black. Then we'll see where we go from there.

The main thing is I'm back and I love my little baby fiat more than anything.

Matt :)
