Seicento My Little Red Sei...

Introduction

Well this is my pretty much standard Red(ish) Seicento...

I've had it since September last year, was at 71,000 miles and we're now up to 78,000 and now going stronger than ever :)

I haven't done much yet, mainly due to my insurance being so high since I'm 18.

Had an oil change & an ITG Foam Filter. Also got a new clutch and rear wheel bearings along with a new handbrake cable.

And of course I had to fit Abarth centre caps and black/red floor mats ;)

I've got some drilled discs and new OMP Sport pads to go on sometime soon.

(Sorry about the picture quality, I used my phone)

The radiator fan seems to have given up, it still spins freely and everything is still plugged into it, someone mentioned it may have blown a fuse. The problem is all the white text on top of the fusebox has been smudged/wiped off so I have no idea which one it is?

On a Sei it's not in the fusebox in the cabin, but behind the battery. There are two, one for the power steering, one for the radiator fan.

If MPI, it's a completely different circuit to the SPI set up. Details in the Seicento Technical Manual in the Downloads Library.

Get it fixed, or risk the HG.

The exhaust has now been fitted with thanks to Lecook

And what a transformation! It is much faster overall and has considerably more pull throughout the revs. I think the difference is made more noticable by the state of my original exhaust that was rusted, full of holes and disintegrating.

Sounds better too:

Apart from the lowering springs this is the best mod so far :D

Still plenty needs to be done, the 1242 conversion and a strut brace being top of the list.

Good lad! I'm currently looking at a 4-2-1 as the standard cat is an eyesore compared to my rocker cover ;) plus it should loosen up the revs a bit :)

Stripped out the rear and it certainly feels a little more lively in the corners but I've not had any long journeys yet so I'm not sure about the extra noise it brings...

Also a pair of Maxxis tyres are now on the front and initial impression is they're certainly grippier than the Yokohamas in the wet but we haven't had dry roads for a while so I'll see how it goes :)

I can now confirm the Maxxis tyres in 175/50 13 size are fantastic, especially in the dry :D IMO the extra £20/£30 a corner for the Yokohama A539s just isn't worth it. The stripped out rear is great but I do now need some more powerful speakers! A set of standard seicento alloys in gun metal grey should be going on soon, courtesy of seicentoceeney (y)

Also a rolling road day at Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich is on the cards too...

ETA: The downside to the stripped out rear is the contant rattling reminding me the bushes need replacing

Unfortunately my other red sei I bought from Lecook (AAH) after surviving being thrashed around all summer last year, including an appearance at Stanford Hall, is now going for scrap/banger car/off roader purposes elsewhere as I don't have the money to put it back on the road :(

However it does mean my car will be polybushed shortly and I will be able to get another 6 months tax.

Sadly a deal has already been done, it may well end up back on the road but it's unlikely. At least I will get the car polybushed for free and the money for tax.

It needed a new alternator/battery/downpipe/coolant temperature/drivers side inner arch and a cat and it has a little hole in the spare wheel well that needs sorting. I did buy it with the intention of sorting it and selling it on as it has plenty of service history but not having a job I simply can't afford to sort it out.

There isn't much I can take off it because of it being spi and anything on my car that doesn't work is mpi related. I've already had the fusebox cover (diagram had rubbed off) and the fuse for the radiator fan (mine was blown) from behind the battery, top mount covers and a couple of little trim pieces.
