I have an 82 Spider, and noticed this summer that the console would get burning hot (too hot to touch). I took a look, and the cat sits right under, and indeed was glowing red. So, the thought was that it is loading up on fuel. Since the weather cooled off, I notice it gets warm, but not as hot as it did. I took the car to my local mechanic, and he says he doesn't have any way to check the fuel mixture; says it could be anything from a temp sensor to O2 sensor, to a bad injector(s).
I really don't want to go down the road of process of elimination. Thoughts???
