when setting the timing on a punto 1.2 16 valve engine why is it necessary to lock both camshafts. surely as the camshafts are intermeshed locking one will automatically lock the other.

Totally wrong section... Punto mk2 is a bit further down...

As for your question. You dont have to lock both. You are correct. Just lock either and both will be locked.
