Grande Punto jamesm2603's GP multijet sporting!

Introduction

Thought i better do one of these by now having had my GP since August last year. This thread won't make the most interesting read but, you know.

Fiat Grande Punto 2008
1.9 Multijet 130
Exotica Red

After being lowered on sportlines the other day:

So yeah, that's pretty much it so far. Mods done so far are:

Lowered on sportlines
BMC Panel filter
Debadged front grill
Heko wind deflecters
Linea Race alloys

Mods to come:

Not sure now to be honest. With putting the new wheels on, i think she looks pretty smart for now. That may change though ;)
Ahh those would be a good idea for me actually, would save the rain from pissing in when I'm trying to enjoy a cigarette. It's been a total bug bear of mine with the Coupe since it's rimless windows so you can't exactly fit those. Just didn't know what they were called.

Mods to come (hopefully and when money allows):

  • Darker alloys, really want abarths but expensive, so probably get these powder coated. Dark anthracite or black
  • Vinyl roof black
  • Maybe sort the airbox and air feed out when i can be bothered cos it's sh*te
  • And any other suggestions cos my mind has gone blank :bang:

glad someone got some use out of those springs, they make a big difference mate.
your car looks great with them.
they would of been no good for the mrs car with her bodykit.

I really like the de-badged front grill... I've done mine and it looks so much better!!

Next you should de-badge the boot! I did mine and it looks brilliant!

Really nice car mate and I like it in red!

Cheers mate, yeah i think the de-badged grills look really smart. Yeah, i'm still getting around to getting rid of the punto off the back!

we wear our fiat badges with pride lol

i'm not really into removing them even though they look good, i've even bought new badges to replace where they have been removed in the past. :D

i really should get on with doing other bits to the mrs punto after looking at all the punto's getting some special care and attention.

Ha ha, i just think it looks cleaner. What plans you got for it?

got a nice new forge intercooler to fit behind that big black grill, a full stainless exhaust and we're thinking about having it retrimmed in leather (all seats and front door cards.

hows the suspension feel, is it firm?

Sounds good!
Yeah it's a bit firmer, not too bad though. Done wonders for the handling though, can't feel the massive diesel lump so much anymore!

Just a quick update.
Not much has happened really, car wise. I have since moved out of my parents' house and hence funds have been a touch low!
Anyway, I have bought and fitted one of the older style TMC boxes and I've de-badged the rear end, too.
I also had it professionally machine polished and detailed by a bloke in Lincoln who did an awesome job. If anyone in the area is considering having that done, I definitely recommend Autoelite.
Oh and the most sickening part that has happened is that my girlfriend bought an Abarth 500. Jealous!
Anywho...a few pictures!

Cheeky TMC box ;)

After a quick wash today

Girlfriends Abarth reflected in the boot

De-badged bum.

looks great james. how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking 'cus the mrs car needs a bloody good polishing.

talking about the mrs car, we are looking into getting rid of the mrs's grande for the abarth punto evo just not sure yet as her's is 177hp now so can't imagen the abarth would be any quicker not to mention the abarth will cost more to insure.

It cost 250 quid for the wash, machine polish and detail. Then I had the gechniq c1 put on it which is a wax that dries as a crystal lacquer over the top of the paint so it acts as a whole new layer over the paint. Apparently lasts 5 years as well!

I assume you got it mapped then? Where you get it done?
