Grande Punto Another red T-Jet (:

Introduction

I thought i'd share my Grande with everyone as it seems to be the thing to do (y)

Anyway i've had the car around 2 months now and love every bit of it, one night I drove my friends (GotGrande) and I just had to get one, was a great upgrade! Cleaned the car over the weekend and thought it was time to get some pictures up.

Only thing changed is debadged boot but got a couple of things to buy when money becomes available :)
Let me know what you think :)

Help

Hey guys.... and gals :)
Does anyone know how difficult it is to fit a crank shaft sensor on a Fiat Punto Gande? I am not mechanically gifted at al :) Thanks Marky

The handle is rubber, the bit in the middle of the bristles is metal and bends quite easily :/ Works pretty well though, cleaned the wheels on another family car to test! Or am I missing the question?

Missing the point, I have one my brother got, its rubber coated metal in the centre also, so if you brush against the spokes with it, it doesn't damage the paint/finish on the wheels etc.

More difficult than you can manage, as it then needs aligning I think, use the main forum rather than members motors

I see what you mean now, think you would have to try pretty hard to make the centre hit an alloy. Tried it on another car and coped well, i'll just have to be careful! Wouldn't matter much as 2 alloys have flaking paint and 1 has a bad gash taken out of it! (n) Only got one preisteine alloy left, I need to buy a 2nd set of shoes and then send the SS one's off for a refurb when the weathers better in a couple of months, need them looking good again! What is it with you and gearboxes MISC? I hope this one is under warranty too..

Haha I know! Well when I bought the car there was a 'noise', I put it down to being the bigger turbo at first, then thought it was a wheel bearing, other abarth owners said possibly the diff and of course then mentioned the lovely M32 gearbox. For a M32 box to last 30k miles though i'm fairly impressed! Should be under warranty as they only mentioned paying for a new wiper blade, so all should be well soon! (y)

mine was on 64k when I noticed it :p
You heard when you are getting your car back yet mate?

Jordan.

Last time I spoke with the garage (friday) they said still waiting on parts, should turn up on saturday or more likely tuesday and that they would ring when they arrive (lies, they never ring back!) so more waiting for me! Hopefully, they turn up early tuesday morning so they can get it put back together for me to collect on wednesday, i'll believe it when it happens though wouldn't be surprised to have to wait longer than that!

Keep having to use the family bus that has a top speed of just over 100mph (if you had a runway that stretched around the world) and does 0-60mph in just under 13 seconds (n) Although this isn't so bad as my car will feel like a missile when I get it back

Something to cheer you up/make you laugh!

I tried the Salbet seats yesterday while getting car serviced! Lovely seats....

Unfortunately for me, (Good for Wallet Though), I don't fit in the car with them there..... stupid height!

There not cheap are they! How tall are you?! I've only just realised why your username is talltom, makes sense now! I'm 6"1-6"2 and thy are fine for me, had thought about lowering them but not really worth it.

I've got the image of Clarkson getting into the old ford gt with his head sticking out above the door lol if only you had the sunroof, problem sorted :D

I want to ask people opinions on this..

I handed my car into the garage on the 28th of january, i've phoned every other day just to see how it's getting on. I was told it would be ready on certain dates 3 or 4 times now, every time I ring up to see if anything happened all they seem to do is put it off to the next week.

I was told all the body work had been done, sideskirt and wipers etc. (on tuesday) and that it would take '1-2 days for the gearbox to be reassembled' so I thought fair enough. Just got off the phone to them after giving them an extra day to get it done. Turns out now, it's going to take into next week to reassemble the box...they've still got 3 days of this week!? I've never had anything to do with engines and the working of the car but i'm fairly sure even I could have reassembled it by now! AND to top it off, they also told me that, no, none of the body work has been done, so i've got to wait into next week for them to reassemble everything AND then send it off to another company to do the bodywork!?

I'm starting to think about making complaints and being a little more stern shall we say. I know it can take quite sometime to do the job but imo this is getting silly now. Feel completely messed about to be honest, i'm certainly finished with this garage, i'll be taking it somewhere different next time! Am I right in thinking this is all a bit silly now? or am I just being impatient? I feel as if complaints are needed, not until they've finished the work though! I'm expecting them to turn around and demand £££'s next :(

Hello mate,

Sorry to hear of the bother you are having with the garage you chose to do the work on your car. I for one do not think you are being unreasonable at all and I believe this is getting in your words “Silly” and I don’t believe you are being impatient. The garage has now had your car for 19 days (not sure if the garage works sat/sun). I also would be worried about the other things you have mentioned but I believe you are right in not making a complaint until after the work has been done as at the end of the day you want a good job done not some bodge job.

Again mate I also fear that they will be asking for £££ more. Were you given a quote at all for the work to be done?

Regards
Stephen

Is this a trusted garage mate? A main dealer?

I wouldn't have handed my car in to anything other especially if it's a specialist car like yours.

How much is this box setting you back btw if you don't mind me asking?
