Punto (Mk2/2b) My MK2B Punto :)

Introduction

Alright lads, im Jake and ive just bought a 53 Plate Black MK2B Punto!
Ive got alot of ideas for what I want to do with it but this is my first attempt at modding a car and ill have some issues and stuff that i will need to sort out ;)
Anyway, im just going to concentrate on the interior of the car at the moment and subtle changes that arn't really going to affect my insurance to much! Funds are low but ive managed to get an air freshener and set of sparco pedals that need installing so im on my way ;)

Anyway here is my new baby!

Future Mods:
New Gear Knob
Alarm System
Steering wheel
Push start button! :D
Mudguards
Xenon headlights
Touchscreen radio (Removing centre console)
New speaker system

Also going to get a new reg plate, just wondering if i can get a swedish flag where the picture of the GB symbol normally is? Might be an infringment of the law or something because its not on a swedish plate?

Cheers :D
Also plans for the future are:
16" Alloys
35-50mm Lowering Springs
Abarth Skirts
Angel-Eye Headlights
De-Stripping
Colour Code Mirrors, Door Handle
Remote Central Locking/Alarm System

Got to be careful about the insurance though. Anyone know round about how much it is going to go up if I add all these?

Tbh, really took inspiration from Draggers Euro Punto. Looks Awesome so im going to try and create a Euro 3 Door. (y)

dnt declare ur modds thats an easy way 2 get round it (y)

Haha I think I might need to ;)

What Mod's would I have to declare out of that list?
Personally i would declare all mods to any car just incase you do have a crash because ANYTHING that isnt declared they will just not pay out
i think with that it will probably go up about £150-£200 a year cos theres not that much that affects performance but the alarm will make it go down if anything so its better declaring that than not (y)

its always better to declare ANY changes to the car, no matter how small, a lot of tiny cosmetic changes wont affect premiums on a lot of insurers, but as mentioned, if u crash and need to claim, they will look at any way to not pay out... undeclared mods will be one of them ways to close their already tight wallets.

So changing the bulbs in my headlights, ill have to phone the insurer and tell them about it?

Cheers lads, nothing really to declare yet, but the big things i'll be sure to!

Anyway.. sort of an update:
Trying to de-strip the sides. Proving a huge pain in the arse! Out at 11am armed with a hairdryer and hot bucket of water but still had loads of adhesive on there.
Takes an age to get off, even with some stuff I got from Halfords.
Got the 'Active' badges off no problem though (y)

Will try and finish that tomorrow.. Only managed to do like 3/4 of a side.

Other thing is when the garage drilled the pedals in they messed the brake light up. So now my brake lights are permanently ON! Looked under and it seems that the brake isnt retracting back so it presses the switch (Must be the weight of the pedal) but ill get that sorted and take it back after work.

Small things during the next 2 weeks:-
Finish de-stripping
New tax disk holder
Richbrook Sabre aerial
Badgeless grill (Hopefully coming this week so should be fitted ASAP :D)
Inspect and T-Cut everything
Colour Code wing mirrors and Handle's

Busy Busy. Ill have some pics up when i actually complete something! ;)

auto glym intensive tar remover work a treat on the sidestrip adhesive along with alot of elbow grease, hairdryer and some sort of creditcard ;)

nice car mate (y)

thanks,
Carl.

Cheers!:).
Yeahh I've got a bottle of it but it's still a bitch to remove! Long nails are recommended. My mum helped out for an hour and did most of the adhesive on one side!;)

Have got like 20cm left.. Bit busy for the next week, but if I get a free night, it will be done!! :slayer:

Plus the grill is on. Just that at the moment it's on held with three screws. And that I can't get two of the originals out of there .
