Grande Punto DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet.

Introduction

Hi all,

After reading these forums for a while and posting the odd silly question here and there, I'm proud to say I finally own a T-Jet :D:D

Standard for now but I do have plans for it:

Looks

  • Tinted tail lights
  • Tinted/Abarth headlights
  • Black Mirrors
  • Black Alloys
Handling

  • Coilovers (Either JOM or FK AK)

Performance

  • Forge Induction
  • Forge Intercooler
  • Abarth Turbo
  • Some sort of custom exhaust

I'm open to suggestions though, if any of you have any ideas on what else/different to do to my car then feel free to let me know :)

Thanks for looking!
Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Not bad, I look forward to you having it all done (y)

Pics of the spoiler? I do follow your thread but I don't remember seeing it in there haha
It's still to be sprayed, will put pics up of it once its on.
I'm going to be dropping it off at a local guy while away with work this week, getting it done gloss black.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Took my back seats out the other day:

I was bored whilst cleaning the car and decided to go for it, so far it handles quite nicely, had it round a few roundabouts and some twisty country lanes and it still holds quite well so I think I'll keep it like this. Road noise is louder though so i may have to look into getting some sound deadening done.

It also made it handy for getting my new Toyo Proxes T1-Rs to the tyre shop to have them fitted (y)

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

How much you pay for your T1-R's if you dont mind me asking, and from where - I need some to replace my fronts in the next month or two, Camskill seems to be the cheapest I can find online.

Edit: I've made the assumption that they're the stock 205/45 size, though looking again they might be 40's?

I bought them from camskill because it was also the cheapest I could find!

& Correct, they are 205/45, I didn't want to chance having less rubber really, especially with my pothole finding skills

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Liking the car pal, your plans are similar to what i wanna do with mine :) whats the 0-60 time like now? and could you tell me where you got your abarth turbo from, cheers

Lowest 0-60 I've run was 6.22 seconds done with the DynoLicious app for iPhone. The times range from about 6.2-6.8 usually though.
I got the abarth turbo on eBay, I just kept searching and waiting for one to come up at the right price. (y)

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Very nice t-jet, ive also never seen one in blue, hopefully ill see it around sometime as i live just north of town :). There isnt too many t-jets or m-jets around here so its nice to see one around lol.

Ive got an M-jet in the same colour and was probably going for the anthracite on the wheels, just because i like it when alloys get dirty :p

I dont know if I read in this thread or another but did you say you had an HID kit?

Also the exhaust sounds immense! Shame it would make next to no difference on mine lol.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you then! Yeah I think anthracite would look great on the wheels, when I get mine refurbed I'll probably go for something like that, either that or a dark grey colour. Because I like them dark but I think black is a bit over the top for these wheels.

No I haven't got HIDs, I bought some whiter looking bulbs from eBay though and people often mistake them for HIDs (because they're quite bright, not blinding.)

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Attended the fast show at Santa Pod last weekend and had the T-Jet on the drag strip for some RWYB fun :D Quickest time I managed was a 15.28 @ 89MPH closely followed by a 15.31 @ 90MPH. Either way I was pleased with that as it was my first time racing on a strip.

You'll have to excuse the facial expressions in the pictures as I was clearly deep in concentration :slayer:

there looking good mate! the car looks sweet!!

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

what was the other t-jet running? and did you beat him

If I remember correctly, he had a GSR, intercooler, custom exhaust with decat and was remapped. 150 or 160bhp i think but 240ft/lb of torque like me.
We had 2 races, the first I won by quite a bit because his car jumped out of gear in first, and the second I won fair and square by about .3 or .4 seconds :D In the video of the second race he actually has a better start and gets off the line better than me, but you can tell with the VL36 turbo that it's holding on to the boost longer, and I manage to get past him.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

I'll upload them tomorrow and post the link here :)

I'm not sure if he is on the forum, I didn't get the chance to ask him as after our 2nd race he went off to help his mate in a golf who popped a driveshaft.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Here are the videos, sorry for the delay but I've been having internet problems.
Oh and I also apologise for the video being vertical and not filling the screen, it was filmed by my mate who isn't very iPhone-competent..

I also spotted my car whilst watching the TV Broadcast of the Fast Show online :D
(It's on the left in these pics in case you can't see it )
