I do admire your love for the car paying that much to keep the car on road.

Agree with what been said, a fast car comes with a cost! But i bet it is a fun car to drive .

I would do the DIY jobs, but i only have the weekends "free" after work, which is usually my time to go for a drive! Not enough hours in the day I tell ya!

Car might have to go anyway, as my house is for sale and i might be buying another one

Have thought about what you might replace it with then?

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!).

So, went to collect the car, didn't get lost this time so the 65 trip only took an hour and a half. Paid the 340 bill (ouch) and then asked if i could drive the APE whilst i was there. He told me to go and drive mine whilst he sorted out the trade plates for the APE. Oh dear, first 10 seconds of driving the whining started again, as loud and annoying as it was before. Took it back and the tech came out with me, i drove it, he drove it and we came to the conclusion that it was ANOTHER wheel bearing!

So why wasn't this picked up on the test drive after supposedly being fixed? It was very clear to hear, someone had done 12 miles in it. This is the 3rd dealer i have been to now and on 3 occasions I've been to collect the car, the faults i took it back for still remained. Guess i should have spotted the pattern?

So after driving 65 miles home again, i now have to arrange a day off work next week to go and collect the car again, another 130 miles, nothing to compensate my petrol costs (I'm up to 85 on the courtesy car now) bearing in mind i just paid 340 to have the rear brakes fixed. The only thing that didn't make the whole day a waste was the fact that i tested an APE, but it hardly makes up for it.

Can't tell you how p*ssed off i am AGAIN. Put yourself in my position, would you put up with this and if not, what would you do about it? I can feel a long letter to Abarth UK coming on

Funny you should say that, the 2 regular Abarth dealers that i use have no connection with Fiat, by that i mean they don't sell Fiat's at all, only the Abarth models. Shame their customer service is almost as bad!

1st time I've used this dealer though, so I'll give them a chance to sort it. Everyone gets a second chance, but I'm still emailing Abarth UK regarding services in general.

I think the state of the roads is mostly to blame. I've just bust a second bearing today on the Punto. Same happened last year (after all the cold weather and the occurring pot holes).

It confuses a lot of people. I wish Fiat did sell the Abarths through Fiat, it would make every one's life a little easier. But for some reason they wanted it as a separate brand, maybe to sell it on one day to another big company, maybe it's because Abarth are going to tune other Fiat group cars in the future (Alfa/Lancia at a guess) I get fed up of telling people they won't be able to go to a Fiat dealer and drive one (unless it has the Abarth franchise)

You could be right there. But for some reason most of the roads i drive on a regular basis seem to have escaped pot-hole damage. I guess it's because rural Wales has a much lower volume of regular traffic!

Shame about the car costing so much to maintain Did you have it on finance or buy it straight up?

It's the massive forestry/norfolk line lorries that wreck the roads near me and as I live near a coastal town that is the main link between N.I and Scotland which means they are a common sight.

Nah i traded in the Panda and put about 9500 cash towards it (which took a lot of hard work and time to save up for someone my age on my wage)

I'm in a bit of a pickle because i might be buying a house (well, only 12.5% of it actually but it's huge) so she might have to go anyway. Things sort them selves out though, I'm sure once she's back I'll be happy. Still going to go through with my letter to Abarth UK, not just because of today but because of the general poor service I've received in the last years. I've been to 4 Abarth dealers now, I'm running out!

Oh my letter is 1277 words long!
