Cinquecento £50 Cinq Sporting

Introduction

Bought this cinq for £50 at the end of March from a guy at work. No MOT or tax so I first thought do it up and sell it, as its quite low milage, just over 59K. But..seeing as i wanted one last summer but couldnt find one, i thought id keep it :D

Things iv'e spent on it:
New handbrake cable
New rear engine mount
Head gasket set
And general clean up and service

Also some great big Spot lamps :D and ive painted the rocker cover red

Things i hope to get done, induction kit/pancake filter, exhaust, just small things realy.
Well its been a long time scince I said anything on here! The cars nearing compleaion now, finaly! Been in uni scince september so the cars not been looked at scince then, so over christmas mum said i had to do something about it.

So i've put some fresh oil in it, flushed the rad and engine, made a custom air box , re-painted the front bumper as the laquer had pealed off, and generaly tydeing it up.

Ive attached some pics so you can see how its comeing along.

Had a think about what ive done with it today, and its more than i thought! Its had/I've done

New Wheels and Yoko Tyres
New Hand Brake Cable
New Rear Engine Mount
New Head Gasket Set
New Plugs and Leads
Red Rocker Cover
Modified Standerd Air Box
Fixed the fact the balance on the gear linkage was upside down
Re-painted the front bumper
Changed the oil
Fixed the holes in the boot
Removed the carpet under the bonet
Painted under the bonet
T cut on the bonet (was badly faided)
And some general tydeing up and fixing random things that i wont bore you with it!

Things to do, give it another good clean, more t cut, another oil change and a filter this time, a passenger side engine mount and a few more things but i cant think now!

Thanks

Sorry to sound a noob but why have you cut a whole in your stock airbox? Improve sound does it?

Yuup, gives it a nice induction sound, probably dosent improve the performance at all, but it dose now get air going straight to the engine, from the front, so might be better than a K&N pancacke filter that sits on the TB. Was just something I did when I bored in the summer.

May have to do it :D I have a k n N panel filter in my sei sporting but wouldnt mind a little more sound.

get those spots back on it, then with a little more work it'll look like mine:p

Getting it back on the road is my first aim! Need to make better brackets for them first, they were a bit heavy to mount with 1 bolt onto the top of the slam pannel, gona bolt it with 2 bolts to the front of it, alot more stable!

Gona take the mud flaps off for now as well, try and see why the arch liners wont go to there place properly, it looks sooo untidy with them sort of hanging!

She'll be makeing her competative debut in November as well, watch this space ;)

Now how mutch was that roll cage...

OMP cages are £363.15 from the first place i found on the internet. Cage was already in there when i bought the car tho. If they still do them, get a Sparco cage, there a much nicer fit, i have one fitted to me other cinq and Rallycinq fitted one in his.

Arch liners have a few self tapper through them, make sure there all there, and they clip in around the arches. Just make sure you keep those flaps tho:p

Yeah i remember the car for sale and just about remember it compeating on a few road rallys I watched when I was younger.

Id like to get a cage for it, to do road rallys, but you dont have to have one for them and I know alot who have done them without, so itll be something that can wait. The aim for the future is to get a MSA logbook on it but that wont be for another 2 or 3 years as im in uni.

Might have to take the mud flaps of tempramentaly tho, to get the arch liner back into place properly, but there not going!

Long time no update so Ill get somthing down.

Wel been in uni so havent had any time with the car, but was home over the weekend and when the other half was working I got round to begin moveing the battery to the boot.

First problem was connecting the 2 positive cables to the one running through the car. Solved that by getting a big ass terminal and useing it as an adaptor.

Then I hit a big wall, didnt buy enough cable , only enough to get from the cut off to the boot.

So all I did realy was make the plate to go where the radio was to put the cut off there instead. Also me and dad made a temperory thing to hold the battery in the boot. Not realy did anything electrical to be honest, moastly takeing the speakers out the back, didnt look right to be honest and dont need them. So when i left the car yesterday afternoon, most of the car was all over the garage or in the boot.
