Thanks chaps, It's the same car but I re-sprayed it red, bit of a big job because of having to do the engine bay, door shuts and everything. It's only the 2 litre pinto engine but it goes quite well although its sorn until the summer
Your Capri looks great, couldn't find any photo's of the restoration on your website (maybe just me!). Have you got any photo's of the work as it was done? Always good to see a car coming back to life! :slayer:
Hi Si, There are some pics if you click on the black Capri page button then on the next page the Rebuild project title at the bottom of the page then after that the next title at the bottom of each page. Unfortunatly I didn't take many pics though. There was alot of welding I did on the rear spring hangers front floor to bulkhead and front chassis legs which I should have photographed but I got a bit engrossed in the work and neglected the photography a bit.
edit the web sites abit hard to navigate because I made it myself, not my speciality lol
Found it now thanks! Looks like good work, it is annoying having to wait for warm weather for spraying but not worth it being ruined, time and money wise.
Look forward to seeing the pandas work, sounds like it's in good hands!
i had one of these mate 2.8 laser was rusty as hell though leaked oil everywhere and gearbox grinded into everygear haha it slowly over a few years sat on the drive rusted away...i sat in it one day and me foot went straight through the footwell hhaha everything was siezed and someone broken thee back windcreen and so got rid lol
Now you mention it, it does have marina door handles. It's just the colour and shape remind me of a very nice Cortina i saw at a car show round here.
I find it hard to like Capris as they were the old bangers that i remember from when i was younger, with lots of smoke and rust. Which is the memory that i'm reminded of when i see them. If i was older or younger it would be a different car i imagine but it just happens to be them.
