First photo is of the whole air intake system.
Second photo is the part is unknown to me. What is it? Can I remove it? What is the cable it's attached to, a sensor, and where is it going?

I need to know more about it as I plan my custom induction kit 'cos the more OE stuff I can remove the better.

You cant remove that its the airflow meter,if ecu needs that to see how much air is going into the engine.

FE is the man. Induction kits fit upstream of the sensor.

You will prob have to drop the air box out of the inner wing, I tried to get it out the top and failed.

If you dont want the old air box I'll take it off your hands. Mine is trashed.

You guys are crazy. You want to remove vital parts of the engine and you encourage others to do the same!

That's the loop I went through. Ended up putting in a K&N panel filter and painting the box. Need a new box though as the previous owners have snapped two of the bolts in the box with the ends corrosion welded into the inserts and snapped one of the brackets off. It's currently only held one with one screw and the pipe.

Don't think I will ever want to lose this noise though.
