Hello.

I recently bought a marea on a R Reg, and was given the blue key, red key and a code card.
The Blue key remote is broken however (switch gone).
I would like to get a new remote key sorted, but I dont fancy paying Fiat the ninety odd quid quoted for a new one.
Could anyone suggest a cheaper way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

Your fob can be repaired if you know someone who's handy with a soldering iron.. just needs a microswitch replacing.

Otherwise get it cloned by a locksmiths.. They do a non-alarm one for £20.. Not sure if they can do alarm ones too but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hi.
The key itself is fine, just need the remote part.
It would need a specialist I think to solder the switch back on its so tiny.
I dont think a key copier would sell a coded remote key

another common fault. the switch has 4 solder joints on it. when you press the button too firmly these joints break. simply resolder them and it'll work again.

alternatively, if you have the 4 digit alarm code you can program any reomte key into your alarm. if you buy a second hand key you can swap the immob chip and key blank over and kep the working remote, then program it into your alarm and your sorted.

the programming procedure is easy, i've posted it not long ago. if you need me to explain it just send me a PM. i'd write it all out here but i cant be bothered at the minute, sorry
