Hi all, Just joined as i have purchased a Marea Weekend JTD 130, Its a lovely car with grey leather, climate etc
Done about 1K in it since purchasing last week, But today have had major problems,

I was driving up the ramp in a multistory car park and the guy in front stopped, so after sitting 10 mins waiting for it all to get moving, i decided to turn the engine off. Went to restart and it was turning over, the red injector light was on the code light had gone out but the car not starting.
Anyway several people pushed it up to the 1st level where i went to call green flag. They turned up, turned the key and hey presto were off again.
He follows me towards home for several miles and leaves me to it. So i stop at the local shop for some tinnys for tonight and the same happens again. (note again on a slight incline)
So i left it again for 30 mins walked home and got my spare key (the red one) as I thought the key chip must be faulty. Gets back and it starts again straight away. I had moved it on to the level

so anyone have anyclues

the car has 130k ffsh. Last service 117K
I am thinking fuel pump relay? Fuel filter?
Unsure where to start really.

any help much appriciated

when it wont start does the starter motor still turn at its usual speed?

if it does:
this type of problem is often the fuel rail pressure sensor or the hose going to it. if that fails try blocking the egr valve or disconnecting the air sensor (maf/map not sure what your model has).

if it doesnt:
clean the connections on the battery, earth strap, alternator and starter motor.

due to the milage it is worth cleaning the throttle body thoroughly and cleaning out the intercooler (use petrol). i've seen high milage TDs that had the same problem and it went away after cleaning these.
