Help needed!! My JTD started having hot start problems about a month ago. When hot, the engine would sometimes start fine, but sometimes would not (engine cranking fine). The injection system malfunction light stays on when it won't start. Recently the engine has cut out a few times while I was driving, with the injection light coming on again. Nothing seems to get it started, but when it is left for a while it suddenly goes again. I have tried all the electrical connections and earths and nothing is loose. It has been on a diagnostic, which showed a cam to crank fault (but would this not just be from when it stalled??). When the engine does start, and right up to when it dies, it runs fine and smooth, so fuel filter and injectors seems unlikely? The RAC have looked at it twice and found nothing, so if anyone has any ideas before I have to pay Fiat a small fortune... Thanks in anticipation of finding a Fiat genius out there!!

i had a bravo 1.4sx which wouldn't start from hot which was diagnosed as a faulty crank sensor, but the tensioner went before i had it fixed so cant report that was the exact fault.

cheers

Got the same problem on my 1.7td. Read somewhere it could be a blocked air filter. This falls in line with my purchase of a new filter just before my troubles started. I know very little about the mechanics of a car but I am going to try taking out the filter for 1 hot start try.
