I wondered if any of you clever chaps could explain what is so good about common rail diesel engines and which models have them? I'm guessing the JTD on the later models is something to do with it...

Are they any better then the ordinary TD models?
What problems if any?
And would it be worth making sure my next car has one?

As the article should explain it is simply the next generation in injection systems. I don't know of any specific problems.
