Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | JTD 130 Tuning Newbie Question Hello all First post. Cracking forum!!:) I've just bought a Fiat Marea 2.4 jtd 130 and i'm very :D happy. I noticed you can get a box of tricks for these engines that give you a wee bit more go ;) Which should I buy, there are loads available. Found one on ebay £174 delivered. May be I should have the ecu remaped and not get the add on box?. The engines done about 84000 miles has just had a full service and new cam belt, has it done too many miles to tune it up or should it be ok. Last question If I buy and add on box will it smoke or rattle or blow up or anything else equaly horrible. Sorry if this is old ground. But the moneys burning a hole in me pocket and I dont no which way to go with the tuning. GSXRChris Fiat Marea 2.4 JTD 130 GSXR 750H Streetfighter

Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | I have chip tuned mine JTD130 with a programmed chip, replacing the old one. Of course the old one can be used if necessary (EPROM holder in the ECU). In principal don't go for box tuning: less power + a smokey JTD. Only replace the chip by professionals who can do the welding in the ECU. In principal for safe don't go above the 165 hp, to avoid transmission problems to the wheels. It's now running for more than 2 years, start at 80000km now 180000km. 0 - 100 km/hr in ~8.5 seconds 60 - 120 km/hr in 4th gear ~9.5 seconds 80 - 120 km/hr in 4th gear ~6.2 seconds I have a Wetterauer chip (WWW.wetterauer.de) Good luck, Frans
