Anyone else had this since new??
I actually won this when I was a kid - so did all my mates at the time. We had a Fiat dealer nearby and my friends dad picked up a Fiat Regata 100s as a company car, with a free scratchcard. He won the record which he then went to pick up from the dealer. Then, to win more without buying a brand new Fiat Regata, all you had to do was dial this number in the Fiat brochure. That dealer, Firs Fiat in Oxton, Wirral, must have given every Fiat brochure they had to children that summer as absolutely every kid in the neighbourhood was doing this.
It was a pound to make the call so permission from parents was needed as a pound was the equivalent of about a grand in today's money - the pound went to the WWF - A pre-recorded David Bellamy answered the phone and said 'Well done! You have just made the most important phone call of your life!' You then had to listen to him going on for 5 minutes about Madagascar - which until recently I thought was near the Isle Of Man - and the various endangered animals living there, particularly the ringtailed Lemur.
Then, after leaving your name and address at the end on an answerphone, you got a scratchcard in the post to win either a car, or this album. I personally knew loads of kids who went through this (all making the call on my mates house phone when his dad was out at the shops in his Fiat Regata) and absolutely everyone won a record
I've had this since new and only played it once then it went in the record stand - despite changing houses and even counties over the years, I've still managed to keep hold of this for some reason - even though it's unlikely to be ever played again! I cannot find a trace of this on the forum but I assume there MUST be other people who've got this! This now lives in a sealed bag in my loft.
I remember that when I was doing the scratchcard I was praying to whoever that if I won a car it wasn't a Panda as my next door neighbour who was a female hippy had one and it was rusting to **** in less than a year from new lol. Good times.
