Making cool cars with quality problems is not the way to recover. Fiat really needs to pay attention to the details, both in the design/engineering and in the assembly process, before it will permanently regain market share by making repeat sales to existing customers.
I'm on my first Fiat and I've had six or seven Alfas over the years. My last Alfa was a new 75 3.0 that the petrol tank nearly fell out of soon after delivery and had a number of other problems. Hey, it was GREAT to drive but miserable to own. I've seen too many quality surveys based on owner input that show Fiat, Lancia and Alfa at or near the bottom of the table. This has to change, especially at Alfa price levels.
