Well i probably will when i get into the one way system.
Im taking directions from the RAC and borrowing me brothers SAT NAV.

I was thinking about setting off at 11ish, that gives me about 2 hrs+ to get there

2 hours should be more than enough, def drive down the A183 in sunderland as it takes you right past the campus on Chester Road.

HTH

David

I know the A19 bit, then the rest im unsure about. When i get to sunderland if i get lost, the company i work for has a shop just up the road from Chester road, so i can just go in there for help.

Good luck.

Remember getting lost is sometimes part of the fun of driving :)

well at least you're guaranteed a place if you make it there :D

when i applied to sunderland they didnt even need an interview, they just gave me an unconditional offer. bless them. i've no regrets, it turned out to be a far better uni than i expected. i did 2 years at northumbria before sunderland, and tbh northumbria was a dump in comparison.

the forster building is a dump and MOST of chester road campus is in a very poor state (the lecture room L30 springs to mind, they haven't changed jack in at least 35years!!! still original late 60's vinyl on the seats and everything :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: , I spent most of last year in there).

if its pharmacy your going into, that bits OK as is the rest of the health/doctor'y thing buildings. but the others are a disgrace, that wearmouth hall (big skyscraper thing) is getting pulled down in april, and will effectivly turn the whole campus into a building site AGAIN!!!! (ALL of last year and the year before that they were rebuilding the edinburgh building (waste of time, its still a dump in the student areas) and the gateway centre, which is full of useless sectretary type men and women who don't know jack. theres also a greggs in there which has led to the uni shop and cafe going bust. well done whoever let THEM into the site:rolleyes: putting about 20people out of a job, and students out of good food and quality coffee

IF you are going to come to sunderland (99% likely they'll let you in, they let everyone else in, inc myself :p ) then I strongly advise you look at where you will be studying and meet the people who run the course and more importantly the people who teach it.

I met 1 on the open day, and he was th worst, turned out most of the lectuers were mint, but the course was sadly lacking due to the prick, cough, sorry, head of department, who could think of nothing but his upcoming retirement. PRICK.

Out of ........ what course are you looking at doing. I'll tell ye if its any good, as I know pretty much someone from every course now

Im hoping to get into the primary teaching course so most of my time may be spent on the St Peters campus. Most of the people we met today seemed nice, relaxed people. i know all that changes when they teach you as theres deadlines etc need to be met.

I didnt think it looked that bad, parking was difficult and i got a bit lost on way back but found my way back to chester road.

if parking was 'just' difficult then you got it on an easy day/hour.

usually you can't get anywhere near teh place.

the uni decided to start bumping the annual parking charge, but then lo andbehold up sprung the parking machines and pay and display came into effect.

now I just CANNOT afford to drive to uni, so end up missing a lot of lectures that are at odd times of the day as I simply can't get there.

however JUST as many people still use the carparks as they are the people that work there.

its just more cash in teh uni's pocket, which they waste on extra useless people sat at a desk for no good reason.

the same can be said for ALL universities. they hemourage cash like its water.

primary teaching hey. plenty of laydeez on that course.

Last year there was 120 odd women (95 of which were grade A hot, and 80 of them were NOT local, i.e actually got more than an ounce of sense and don't have that horrible mackem accent) and guess how many guys, 3!!!! just 3, they all left/changed courses within the first month as they felt outnumbered. daft sods,

you'll find that sunderland is SERIOUSLY lacking in fine females/anything that looks remotly like a female. most of 'them' appear to be mackems or other close locals, thick/a bit slow, and look as good as my dogs 'hole.

go to newcastle however and things look up HUGELY!!!

I spent MOST of my first year in newcastle simply because I couldn't stand being around the munters (I mean stuff that will make your skin melt) that live/appear around sunderland and the various campus's.

if you do know where to look there are *some* nice ladeez. esp in the art and glassmaking schools. but they tend to either keep themselves to themselves (seem to be holding out for that 'one' ), or they prefer the company of other laydeez, or they are spoken for by some 3timing 4faced arse of a guy who doesn't know what he's got, she's simply a token.
another good place too look is the christian brigade.
currently with a girl that looks about 14, but she's anything but 14;) . mmmmm religously good. lost a friend trying to get anywhere near her thought :(

anyway, thats my 2cents

There were some very good looking lasses there today, then like you say they spoke. lol. There were about 5 lads at the interview today was shocked. when i had me Northumbria interview i was the only 1 - how disapointed was i, lol

on the whole its a very unorganised campus.

ANY course (almost) on st peters is MUCH better run.

although its still all a bit lazy really.

sorry if I said anything gash lastnight, I was a bit drunk and a recent despute with uni really has got to me.

I started late this year as I changed course, and when I went to ask my head of department why I wasn't receiving my results for the first wave of module results he checked on computera nd found I didn't exist, AGAIN. wasn't much of a problem as all the work was still in circulation and HAD been marked, just not noted down, so if I hadn't asked, the work *could* have been destroyed (they do after 6weeks unclaimed or sometimes less).

anyway, really gets to me sometimes.

Hence I spent ALL of today in hartlepool. at that big mineral plant thing taking pictures and generally rooting about. then tried to go kiting, but wind was horrible, dead blustery and changing direction all the time
