Not if you have a valid tax disk on the car its a plate to allow you to drive an untaxed car on the road.
Yes, we all know what a trade plate is

BUT the question is, do you have to display them? Or was 'on the floor at the back' a proper place to keep them, stealthly displayed.....

I could have left them at home. the floor was the best place to keep them otherwise i would have had them on my nee or on the seat beside me or in the boot. They wernt needed on that car! that car had tax and MOT just no insurance due to my being covered to drive privatly and bussiness on my Trade Insurance.

It's also a confirmation of your insurance which is linked to the trade plate and I believe that when you park a car on the road the trade plate has to be on display otherwise you could claim you were responsible for any car parked on the road which is something your insurance doesn't cover. Or you could potentially be using the same trade plate for various cars unless it is on display.

If I take my Sisters car to the Garage and pop into the shops on the way. I am responsable for that car. If i leave the hand brake off and it hits a car while im in the shop I am the driver at that time there for its my insurance that pays not my sisters. Thats the main reason i have trade insurance so i can drive anyones car. and I can have up to 50 cars insured at any one time so long as the trade value of each car individually does not go above £5000. and there all fully comp. I have three at the mo and on friday i will be driving my sisters and my mothers to there MOT stations.
