Why Toyo Proxes T1-R?

A lot of people seem to use these tyres... any good reason why?

Yeah but why do people go for the Toyos over the Conti Premium Contact which seem to deliver simlar great reviews?

A review can be ********, what are they tested on a car for a few hours? and then do a write up? These tyres are for everyday and i bet those reviews arent done based on a full alotted mileage the tyres allow.

This is where personal recommendation comes in, obviously the toyos are tried and tested amongst members even more than the contis and so people choose them more, have obviously done the job that has been required and maybe more, so get recommened when someone asks 'what tyre should i get next'

Id take recommendation over a review anyday

Re: Why Toyo Proxes T1-R?

Annoyingly these are my options at my desired profile (175/55R15, T rated) -
Goodyear Vector 5
Bridgestone B340
Michelin Energy XT1
Pirelli P6 (H rating)
Continental Premium Contact (V & T rating)
Continental EcoContact EP

However I can go 10mm wider and get Proxes T1-R, Bridgestone RE040, Pirelli P6000 & Goodyear F1 GS-2D among 50 other tyres

Re: Why Toyo Proxes T1-R?

So in short I should say f**k it trying to keep to relatively slim tyres (175/55 or 185/55) and go for 195/50s and be done with it

They are simply a good tyre for the money. I've always stuck with Toyo.
