Just something I was talking about with my mum, when the Queen dies, the national anthem changes to 'God save the King' or something, and stamps will have the king's head on.

What happens with coins?

They are still legal tender but gradually change over as new ones come in. We haven't had a change of leader since decimalisation but if you look at the pre-decimal pennies, you'll see they are all pretty much the same bar the monarch (y)

Thanks :)

Just wondering...are you Scottish? Have you seen Michael McIntyre where he says the only time the expression 'legal tender' is used is when someone tries to use Scottish money in England

When the Queen dies, you all have to hand in any coins or notes with her face on to an address that I will post on this site when the event happens.
I will give you a receipt and you will be able to recover your money from a sunny beach in South America which is where I will be living.
I will be the fella sitting with a couple of bikinied beauties and some very heavy looking guys with guns and machetes!
