Hello track fiends.

I'm probably going to arrange a karting night for my nephews 18th birthday. He's from Manchester and Yell.com gives me two choices; Karting2000 or Atherton Indoor karting. Has anyone been to either of these places and be able to give me an opinion of what they're like? Karting2000 is almost on his doorstep whilst Atherton is a bit of a drive. If Atherton is significantly better, then I wouldn't mind the extra distance. Also, if anyone knows of a 'local' place that Yell missed, could you let me know? Cheers.

Is karting2000 on froxmer st, gorton? if so then yeah I can recommend it, been there a few times over the years and always had a great evening

Warrington is striving to be too technical and you dont get many laps on a gran prix type event like youd be organising. Daytona is better. For indoor anyway.
Im always biased towards anything regarding karting, raced them properly for 10 years at club level on proper outdoor circuits and the indoor stuff is nothing like proper karting. Daytona is definitely a bit closer to how i beleive it should be done than warrington.

Aye.
Looks good but tbh its just a total faff. But thats my opinion. I prefer straights, long fast sweepers etc. Daytonas a faster track.

Thanks folks. The Gorton one is dead handy for him and when I widened the search to 'north west' I saw the Warrington one and one in Chorley.

Probably not gonna happen as it'll depend on twelve people agreeing to a date and getting cash to me. They're not the most reliable...

That was plan B anyway. Likely to be going to the indoor ski place (Chill Factor E?) instead which was plan A.

Yell.com is rubbish. When I searched for 'karting' and 'manchester', the Datona one didn't appear!!!

I shall plant a seed. What are the chances of an FF karting night next year? I'm down in Manchester three or four times a year as the missus is from there...
