By the cops

Was late for work in the city centre - 2 biker cops were at the side of the road - jumped out infront of me and told me to pull over. Apparently i went right at a junction were only buses and taxis can turn right - i dont know the city centre well so was totally lost anyway!

They looked over the car - took details from my license and one guy went on the phone while the other issued me with a £30 fine :mad:

Not happy

What exactly did you do speeding? running a red light? Ah i see the gardai everywhere these days too they are like busses you dont see 1 for ages then they all turn up at once

Lock 'er up and throw away the key(y)

Shame you couldn't talk your way out of it. Some cops would have let you off, some wouldn't. But atleast its only a fine and not points too, as you keep paying for them when the insurace company finds out.

Toss pots  Theres around x7 Police Vectra's on the road near my work at the moment, pulling over 'illegal' cars, which is fair enough, but when does it take x7 Vectra's!!??

But then don't you have to goto a police station of their choice? By a date and time convenient to them?

No, you might get a producer, but you can go to any station of your choice and any time within 7 days, and is good if you go to one in another county :p

Really gives them the paper work!

don't all city's have the same no right turn road signs

it wasnt a no right turn - it was a no right turn expept for buses taxis cycles and between the times of x and y and weekends and if you drive a hovercraft and if your grannies called betty - ooops too late!

Blatant revenue raising, or an extra tax that no one voted for. If you are a stranger in town a quiet word, and then decide how to go when you see how the offender responds is the intelligent way to handle this sort of trivial offence (i.e. no danger caused, car 100% legal, driver, not under influence etc etc.). There is so much street furniture out there you would have to be Superman to clock it all. This cr*p matters as it leads to the Police becoming estranged from the community they are supposed to be serving.
