Hi Ive actually got a fiat idea with the dualogic gearbox 54 plate which i believe is the same engine as a punto?

This evening the revs seemed to be going very low and the car stalled twice revs kept jumping from 500-1000 its semms the idle rev is not quite high enough as i would think it should be around the 800+ mark is there anyway i can change the idle on the engine.

Ive noticed when im in the car in neutral sat with the engine running it keeps dropping and then racing up again to stop the car stalling. Is it just a case of changing the idle on the car or should i be doing something else any help is really appreciated

from memory it a electronic throttle, sounds like it needs reset/callibrated.

check things like, spark plugs, HT leads, coil packs.. one of those could be causing the engine to behave like it is..

If it has a missfire at the point it drops it would be an indicator or just low on power.

Has it got gradually worse or just started?

Incase anyone comes across this error on their Fiat I just wanted to repost and say I solved this problem by completely cleaning the throttle body which was quite clogged up
