Hi,
I bought a second hand fiat punto 100w sub on ebay. It didnt come with any wires or fixing bracket or anythin. I have a punto mk2 2000 reg. Its just the basic model. (although i am upgrading it to an abarth)
Can someone please tell me where i can get thewires and what plug adapter, screws i need etc to get the thing connected to my pioneer deh-7400mp. it has 3 Preouts for the connection of external amplifiers (Front, Rear & Sub). The same as this unit
Oh and will i need a mono amp or can i just connect it?
Can people please recommend a few tips on installation and the parts i need to connect this up?

THANKS!:)

u should be able to use a standard amp wiring kit from motorworld or halfords u Will need a amp to connect it then u plug the sub into the amp and the amp to the headunit and battery

It doesn't need an amp? Have you got the wiring connector in the car? It should be behind the left wheel arch in the boot (there should also be two threaded holes under the carpet above the arch, these are for the bolts, and there is another on the boot floor, near the edge of the arch,) It's a white multi plug. To get the bracket you'll need to go down the scrapyard and get one. Alternatively I know there is at least one bracket in my local yard, and I'll fetch one for you if you want, I can get the loom as well if you need it? I have paypal so once I have the bracket we can work out costs?

The 100watt Sub takes a high level feed off the rear speakers as it has a 100watt amplifier built in! Hence the 100watt on the box!

You need to connect the speaker wires to your rear speakers. The stripes are negative. Then the light blue lead goes to your amp remote on your head unit, and the red (+) and black (earth) go to the battery and to earth respectively.

You don't need a thick power lead, but if you have an amp in the back already then get a distribution block and take the power off that.

ps if you search you should be able to find the info on how to fit it!!! just search for 100watt sub, or punto sub thats what I did.

Hey Jon and Em,

Thanks for the info. I don't have a sub, so i dont need one then, that's good news. I'll have a look in the boot then and give you a holla once i have done. Can you please give your scrappy a ring coz if its only a few quid or a fiver or somethin to buy that bracket i would much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Adam

hey guys, new member here asking for a little advice.
i have a mk2 punto 02reg with the 100w sub in the back with the standard head unit.
what would i have to do to upgrade that to a 400w sub.
Do i need amp and so on and how do i install them?
Thanks every1.

Stannerz, you would be better off opening your own thread for this question.

However, there's no way you'll get a 400w sub in the space that the original Punto 100w sub is. So what you'll need is a sub, amplifier and wiring kit.

I'm pretty sure there's a wiring guide knocking around somewhere on the forum showing how to run power and RCA cables to the amp.

Car Audio Security (google it) stocks a large range of amps + subs etc. at what I seem to think are competitive prices, it's where I get most of my stuff from.

to upgrade you need to buy the sub, and a box for it, and an amp to power it, and the wiring to fit it.

there are loads of previous threads with fitting instructions.
