So here my situation.. as an audio freak I need good tunes around me at all times, prefferably that come trough good quality speakers and such..
So, when I bought the Grande Punto Sport, I took the "best" audio option that Fiat could offer called "Interscope", but it's not as good as I hoped.

So now I want to replace this with another set. I have a budget around 1000-1500 pounds and have NO idea what to do. I could let some blokes do it at an audio shop but I see allot of things around here that by changing headunits you can loose B&M functions, etc.. Is that true or is there a workaround?

So, to sum up; what kind of audio would you recommend for this budget?
If you loose B&M functions by changing the headunit I don't want to change that but would changing the speakers/sub/etc be usefull with the orginal headunit?

Open for all suggestions :)
Thanks!

@ paulbfd; true, but I could not find anybody with the same budget. Most peeps are spending 200-400. So I hoped that somebody maybe could advice me on filling up my GP with audio for this budget :p

@ Punto_Mat.. what exactly do you mean by that? Can you enlighten that somewhat? If I can keep the steering controls and the bluetooth I won't need the standard HU.. what would you recommend?

@ OLZ: It's a good system but I need something better. The price at the dealer was 450EU,- Don't know the exact spec's.. here is some info from the Fiat website:
Interscope audio system
This system ensures that each passenger, in all driving conditions, can enjoy exceptional sound quality thanks to the use of the exclusive and powerful Interscope car stereo system, with 6 speakers and a 100W subwoofer with single-channel power amplifier.

If I will be replacing them you can buy them, no prob. Only thing is that I'm from The Netherlands.. but ohwell, UPS is pretty quick with delivery abroad ;)

That's amazing! That should cover my steering wheel problems ;)
Thanks

Now for a good setup in the rest of the car...

Dont forget sound deadening and building suitable baffles for the front speakers, this will make a huge difference. Music sounds different in a car because it doesnt have lovely solid walls like a house. You need to make the car as rigid as possible so decrease resonance of the area's surrounding the speakers.
Oh and Hertz, Genny combo ;) :worship:. As for keeping the the Head Unit . Why. If you are spending up to £500 on an Audison Bit 1 just to keep the blue tooth then you may as well just get a HU with bluetooth and RCA preouts.
At the end of the day you cant polish a turd and converting Line Level to RCA is always going to be inferior to a proper Sound Quality HU. If i were getting a bit one i would 100% be looking into optically driven signals to it. ;)
