Well ive got a set of Vibe Se-K 60's which are about 3 inches deep and the only problem ive got is that when the wndow is fuly down and i shut the door it hits the speaker but unless ur gonna go with some massive massive speakers u'll be pretty much fine.

Mate it is soo lucky you just told me that i was | | this close to buying these exact speakers as saw them in halfords and they sounded great !!!
yeh they are 61mm i think so probably have to go wif the infinity reference shallow mount ones.

.....ermm thinking about that,
I'm guna fit some dynamat on the door panel so this should bring the speaker forward and give it a bit more room at the back :idea:

Not sure if you'd actually mount the speaker on the Dynamat. Click this link for a big ol' picture of how mine was done pre door builds:

yeah i see...is it any good, its different to where i fort you fitted it, i was hoping that it stopped the panel shaking noise ??

It makes the panel it's mounted to solid.
The less panel movement, the greater the speakers performance - look at the Dynamat website and it explains all.

I have fitted 3 sheets (12sq ft) of dynamat to each door of my gp today,
makes a massive improvement in sound quality
the distortion in the speakers reduces as you need to turn it up alot louder before distorition occurs.
