I just finished fitting a new Blaupunkt New Orleans mp58 head unit in my Mk2 Punto (active sport, dont know if that makes a difference or not) and now the rear two speakers and the sub crackle.

My punto's still completely standard, the only new things ive fitted are the head unit and a new tweeter (had to have a new interior pannel when I had my wing mirror snapped off and the pannel came with a fitted tweeter)

Anyway I tested it with the engine off first and all the speakers and the sub sound and work fine. Once I switch the engine on the two rear speakers and the sub start crackling.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be or how I can fix it?

Thanks

I would have edited this post but I cant seem to find the edit button (im new here so I dont know if its tucked away somewhere or if i cant edit again after a set time)

[edit] Never mind I guess its a timed edit thing.
Also im new to this whole car audio lark so bear with me

Anyway I contacted the place I brought it from and got this as a reply:
If the unit only does it when the car is on then it will be down to the installation and earthing of the head unit, this will need to be looked at by a specialist.

It also does it when the ignition is on but not the engine.

Im taking it to a local audio shop to get looked at soon but if anyone had any advice id be grateful.

Ok I (with help from my dad) managed to fix this and though I would add what I did just in case it happens to anyone else.

Right well how we managed to fix it was removing this connection. (picture of the back of my OLD standard head unit)

Sorry for the bad quality I have to use my phone.

I personally have no idea what it was but my dad said its a pre-out and must have been interfering with the other ISO connection.

Anyway all I know is all my speakers are working including the sub, nothing crackles and no features seem to be missing so there we go. End of I guess. If anyone can tell me exactly the connection does id quite like to know.
