ive got a 12" sub in my sei at the moment, and when my mate used to have a 8" in his mini, there didnt seem to be a difference.

does the size of the sub make a difference? is it that bigger cones deepen the beat?

^^^ what he said, thats what i am led to believe.

the 12" has more flex so as not as punchy, but has better bass

not fussed on punchy bass, so ill stick with 12"

EDIT : what about boxes.... does too much/little space affect the sub?

Subs are designed to work in either "free air" or in a closed space.

The closed space subs are designed to respond best with certain volumes of air, so yes, size DOES matter for boxes.

Shape doesnt mind!:)
