Open boot , close boot. Solves 99% of software glitches :)

spose i could get fiat to flash it right?

I heard that some people with this problem had a connector problem at the EC..computer (damn how is that thing called T14086?) Like it wasn't fitted right in the socket or something like that.

Body computer?

Yep disconnecting battery will normally cure this,if not there is a flash available but think its for the 188 puntos...would need to check.

This problem?

I drove it to the dealer with no instruments, which was weird to say the least. Didn't take them long to fix and they said it was a loose earth cable. So I was happier than a pig in s**t cause it wasn't serious :).

I had the same today (week and a half old car) drove home, opened gate drove inside, turned car off and left key in ignition, went to go close gate and the radio turns on and starts playing, all back to normal :)

all dash lights stay on after ignition turned

my wife started her 06 plate grande punto this morning all the dash lights stayed on the car turned over ok but the indicators etc would not work, this happened once a few months ago but a lock/unlock and turning the ignition over cleared it previously but not this time
has anyone had this happen to them, booked in the local fiat dealers but cant look at till thursday:(

Re: all dash lights stay on after ignition turned

depends on the car spec level if you get the "cancheck" message....

Its a know fault/ problem as a tempory stop gap pop the bonnet remove the earth clamp (its quick release) and leave it disconnected for 5- 10 minutes this should reset the body computer....

there is a software update for this error and mine hasn't done it since i had it done so ring the dealers and get it booked in IIRC it can be done whilst you wait..

Yes this happened to me many months ago.

If you leave the car for a while (in my case, I drove home without instruments) parked up for 2 minutes, restarted twice and all was well. Dealer updated body computer (after :worship: T suggested that I mention it to them).

Incidentally, the indicators DO work, it's just that nothing happens inside the car (neither lights nor clicking noise).
