Hi guys, as the title says my Punto has developed a squeaky noise that sounds from idle and then goes away whenever I press the accelerator down or clutch in. Both of these stops the squeak sound momentarily then starts back up a few seconds later.

What engine and gearbox. Also does the sound vary with engine or road speed?

its a 1.2 active 65bhp and i can only hear the squeaking when im going slow, probably because of all the revving noise from the engine itself. But i would assume its the same noise regardless of speed.

If the noise noise goes away with the clutch in then it's probably the clutch bearing.
