Hi, I am new to this and don't have much experience with cars at all

I've got an 06 Grande Punto and the cigarette lighter port/charger port is not working. I have just bought this Punto and there is a alot of gunk inside from the previous owner(s). Cant take it out so looks like I will have to replace the port.

Does anyone know where I could find a new cigarette lighter port and how I would install it. Is there also a fuse which may have stopped working and I need to replace before I go to buy a whole new lighter/charger port.

Thanks

Hi there,

could be as simple as a fuse ...

Similar question so I thought I shouldn't start a new thread. I've just recently bought a GP too. Likewise, the cigarette lighter wasn't working.

Bought a replacement socket from Halfords and wired that in. Didn't work. Then Checked the fuse box next to the battery, and the fuse had gone. The manual states its supposed to be a 20A fuse in there, but the blown one was rated at 15A. Easily replaced.

The replacement cigarette lighter now works, but the terrible socket from halfords is too loose to fit and be functional. I replaced the original socket, but that doesn't seem to work at all still.

Can anyone recommend a cigarette lighter part that actually fits, or where I can get a replacement stock part from?

Easy fix -> Dump the Halfrauds part. Go see your local breaker, they should have a GP laying around and it'll be cheap too ;)

Searched for breakers and ended up contacting a couple. Average was £15 for the part.

Used ePer to find the part number: The receptacle is 735358849. eBay had it for £5

Works a charm. Thanks for your help.

On a separate note... Does anyone else find the stock cigarette port really loose for majority of accessories? Only thing that I have that fits properly is the stock lighter itself. I'm considering replacing with a tighter port if anyone has any suggestions...
Many thanks

Yeah it's not a tight hold, easily removed... But at the same time if I don't touch it, it does its job. Without worry that it comes loose on movements. .
