General auto box cant select any gears

Thanks Bernie, I will spend some time looking at them later, Funny enough I am off to Spain Tomorrow for a few days, I will try to get someone to translate for me. Ill let you know how I get on.

Thanks again.

Hi Paul,

would you mind to share your Auto Data's wiring diagram ? It seems that I don't have it in my collection ...

Thanks, Bernie.

Hi Bernie, Yes that would be no problem, I will have to do it next week as I am away for a few days, I will have to print the drawing and 2 pages of the part index , the drawing has just part numbers, and also as usual the wiring colours don’t match my car , but that should not be a problem .

Paul?

That Akkpro article is very helpful , I am going to watch the video links you sent.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Looking at the information that I have been given, I can’t remember seeing anything on where the selectors on the gearbox need to be when re fitting the robot, I assume the robot has to be in N?. I am quite sure my brother has put it back on in the wrong place, and this is why it will nor recalibrate.

Paul

Hi Bernie, How do you want the Auto Data wiring diagram sent, Also, do you have anything on this duralogic bleeding?. I sounds like it has to be done with the scan tool. I have multi scan but I dont remember seeing anything about bleeding the system, I will have another look this morning.

Hi Paul, yes I received them, thanks for that! Does 4/4 have any valuable contain ??
Ok if you want to use the PM channel for further questions ...

Hi Bernie, I dont think it had anything on it, it was just autodata logo and stuff but I will double check when i get home. My test rig is very nearly finished, I have a simulated clutch now, Wiring loom is all done, I just have to sort out the pump connection, I was trying to get the correct plug but the guy I bought the loom from has scrapped the car now, Im working on a alternative. I am just about to put the Pico scope on the clutch lever potentiometer , I have a suspicion it is not working as in the parameters , the clutch pressure plate travel is not moving when trying to select the gears , and I am sure the piston is moving.

I have been spending hours reading about problems with this duralogic/Selespeed cfc328 unit, on one post it says that the clutch rod should be 28/28.5 key on engine not running and with the engine running it will go to 13/14mm mm . I have nothing like that, and I am not sure witch on it is, If I run re calibration does this reset all those dimensions?. A part list of what I have attached.

Hi Paul,

I can see that your engine is @ 9°C and the battery voltage is only 11,5 V, which are definitely WRONG values for good troubleshooting ...

BRs, Bernie

Hi Bernie, That was taken from the car that is working, but not 100% I have not tried to do a re calibration on it as I dont want to make it worse before I sort out the bad one, Here is the bad car 1st page and this will not let me run the re calibration, it takes about 20mins and comes back unknown.

Seems that AlfaOBD does a better job regarding the gearbox calibration than MES ...

Bernie.

That’s interesting , if I have time today , I will connect Alfa bod and see what I get.

Paul

No Luck running Alfa obd, It was asking for the key, I know I have it, but no time to mess about today so multiscan it is, but I decided to put the original robot back on, Both robots have the same symptoms, key on engine not running I can select gear 1 and N, not R it tries to but goes strait back to N. No fault codes. I have changed the oil and bleed the system 3 times.
I deleted statistical data, but when I try to do the clutch self calibration it comes up completed ""Failed""" and it was the same with the other robot on, still no fault codes .

These are the codes I have had momentary a few weeks ago
p1772-1D gearshift lever switches 1 of 4
P1818-72 Gear change control

What would stop it from doing a clutch self adjustment?.

Paul

Well, if the system doesn't know where the lever is... how do you want it to do anything ? the lever switch is built around a diode matrix to tell the GB controler in which position it currently is: ONE bad diode/connection and the sytem is lost ...

BRs, Bernie

I had another go at doing the clutch self adjustment, but no luck, the gear selector will select gear 1 and N but not reverse, with the engine stopped. I did try it when the car was running and it tried to go in to reverse with a lot of graunching as if the clutch is not working, I think It is time to get to the gearbox ecu and check all the input and output voltages to see what is happening, What do you think?, It will have to be after Christmas now as I am going away until the New year.

Paul

Hi Paul

"It tried to go in to reverse with a lot of graunching as if the clutch is not working"

WHY do you think that the clutch is working?
I told you from the start that I had the same problem, even with the biggest lever I could think of, I was not able to even move the release arm. (I am not a weakling!) After changing the clutch kit, I had no problem doing that.

Hi I would have thought it would go in to reverse engine not running, This is very difficult to see what is happening on your own, I thought it would be to do with changing the clutch and not doing a re calibration, This car wont let me do it, It came back yesterday with fault code P1818-72 gear change control.

every time I seem to get codes they are all different.

I have to admit I am getting a bit lost with this.
