The seal around the Gear selector shaft is leaking oil in my 2007 Grande Punto.
I have the unit off the Gearbox but......
How do you dismantle this unit to get the shaft out to replace the seal. I have removed the roll pin but nothing seems to want to move.

Thanks

I have found how to do it. Slide the smaller plastic piece back against the spring and here is a circlip hidden behind it. Remove this and the shaft slides out.

Hello rookie65
I've removed the hidden circlip but the shaft just does not slide out!
Any ideas?
I thought the roll pin is the holder and since I don't have a solution to get that out, I'll just put it all back as it is. So, for the futures, if someone have an idea how to make the shaft slide, it beeing stuck even after removing the circlip, please do tell.
Thank you!

I replaced mine the other day with help from the how2 from the guide section, I Remove the pin with a pin punch then the circlip and the shaft just pulled out, The pin did brake in two though, half came out and half stayed in the shaft, lucky for me the pin punch fitted all the way in so It came out, You sure the pin on yours didn’t brake in 2 and still holding the shaft?

Yes, the pin was not broke on mine and I managed to get it out (a bit hard) with a self made pin punch. It was pretty solid, no signs of braking, just the elasticity not the same. I replaced that pin with a longer one in order to be easy to get it out in the future, and payed attention so the lengh not to touch any of the other components.
